As the managing partner and a key member of the firm’s business group, Steve focuses on resolving intricate real estate matters, including acquisitions, sales, financing, commercial leasing, and title-related issues. He advises a diverse clientele, including financial institutions and corporate borrowers, in sophisticated secured and unsecured financing transactions, loan workouts, restructurings, creditor bankruptcy representations, and strategic insolvency planning. His practice also encompasses guiding clients through asset and stock purchases, corporate and partnership reorganizations, mergers, and acquisitions. Steve has represented clients in significant matters in the areas of oil and gas, mining, and renewable energy projects, leveraging his expertise to secure favorable outcomes in these complex industries. His deep understanding of Indian Country enables him to craft winning strategies for transactions involving American Indian tribes and project development on tribal and federal lands. 

Steve’s extensive business background, with a B.S. in finance and an M.B.A., complements his legal expertise. Serving as the Chief Appellate Judge and Chief Constitutional Judge of the Northern Cheyenne Appellate and Constitutional Courts, he brings unique insight to his practice. Admitted to practice in Montana, Wyoming, and North Dakota, Steve has worked across multiple Indian reservations, delivering tailored solutions and favorable outcomes for his clients.
